Our friends and neighbors thought we were crazy when we told them we were moving to Farmville. In some ways, so did we.
Our boys, Kyle and Matt, were going to a great school, we had a beautiful home and my real estate career was doing well. Something was missing though, so in 2002 my husband, David, and I decided to seek a better life far away from the rush of the crowded suburbs.
Why Prince Edward County? I sometimes say it was a dot on a map, but the truth is, Farmville had everything we wanted. It’s a small town with big ideas and great people. Life moves at a slower pace here, there are abundant opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, and everyone, it seems, knows our names.
As it turned out, moving was one of the best decisions of our life. Farmville is now as much a part of me as my own family. Putting down roots, starting a business and becoming an active community member has been more fulfilling than I could have imagined.
My goal as your real estate agent is to help you find your place in the community. Finding a house is so much more than the number of bedrooms and baths, the square footage or even the kitchen design. It is about the day-to-day life, the connection to community and the connection to your friends and family. A house isn’t just a home. It’s a place where you want to be.
